Starch

STARCH is used to control the viscosity and fluid loss of the drilling fluid during the drilling process. The addition of starch to the drilling fluid helps to increase its viscosity, which helps to suspend cuttings and prevent them from settling at the bottom of the well. Starch also helps to reduce fluid loss by forming a thin, impermeable filter cake on the walls of the wellbore.
